Many people dream of starting their own business, but what happens when that is already completed and your achievement is not making any money or you have fewer people walking through your front door? What do you do now and where do you start?

First, consider whether you need to revamp the whole business or just the products or service. This is the Concept part of planning a change. Dig deep...what is it you really want to do?

Maybe you need to update your technology and software throughout the company. Maybe you want to create an online presence to expand your company reach. Go Global! Then what type of online presence will it be? eCommerce, Blog, Social Media, Consulting? What tools will you need when you start building this presence? Simple website, complete web development, CSM, SEO, YouTube...lots to think about!

Second, when you have the plan laid out it is time to Implement it. Again, where do you start? Contracts, legal, accounting, technicians, and maintenance...the wheels are spinning!

Consider speaking with your local Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau, and the Small Business Association. They have tons of information on starting a business which may be valuable in helping you reform your business. They can show you the ins and outs that you may have missed when you first created your company.

Consider a Consulting Group. 1mpact IT Group can help you with reaching your ideas and goals for your company, creating a plan, and stepping through each department, function, or mission you would like to achieve. Our experienced coaches are skilled in many different industries and technology including:

Each department can help you increase your growth and expand your business using foundational tactics in advanced technology and design.

Lastly, once all the preliminaries, design, and legalities are complete...what do I do now? This is where Marketing comes in. People need to see the changes. They need to know you have a new face, new products or services, and a new style!

Marketing is the key to creating a lucrative presence for your business. Customers will not visit a store or website if they do not know it is there, and your previous customers want to know since they were your patrons before! You never really lose a customer, unless it was really bad... they simply fall away to the next big thing...style...or trend. Which is fast in this high-tech, digital plain we live in! Promote to your previous clientele first, then to the new buyers and where they may be located. Use social media apps like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, or YouTube. Improve your SEO, or Search Engine Optimization so when they search for something you offer, your business and/or website will pop up. Advertise on the social media apps and post, a lot! Let them know you are there because they are looking!

Revamping or updating your business can sometimes feel like a huge overhaul but if you follow these steps it can cut the time down to almost half and keep you in a forward moving direction. Before you know it, your old clients will be ringing that front doorbell again or emailing you for more information. You’ll love it so much, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!

Good luck!
